Custom Export
Use Custom Export… when the quick Export button is not specific enough for the handoff you need.
The quick Export button is for the obvious next file: the current filtered view, a single full report, or a combined workbook for a multi-sequence view. Custom Export is for the more deliberate jobs: a coordinator asks for only a few columns, a facility wants one file per sequence, or a production manager needs time columns in seconds instead of SMPTE timecode.
Open it from the Export menu, the File menu, or ⇧⌘E.
Choose the rows
Section titled “Choose the rows”The first choice is what rows should go into the export.

The window opens on Full report unless you have actually narrowed the table - with a search or a media filter - in which case it starts on This view. Hiding disabled clips is the everyday state, so it doesn’t count as a filter.
For Full report, choose the sequences in the sequence picker. The picker starts from your current scope, so if you are looking at one file it opens focused on that file; if you are in All Open Files it shows everything currently loaded.
Choose the package
Section titled “Choose the package”The package controls how many files SequenceSuite writes.

The window only offers combinations that make sense for the chosen rows and format. For example, ALE keeps its fixed Avid structure and does not use the layout or time-display controls.
Pick sections
Section titled “Pick sections”For Full report exports, tick the report sections you need.

- Reel Summary
- Files Summary
- Markers
- Transitions
- Effects
- Graphics & Titles
- Video-only and audio-only variants
If you only need the clip list, leave All Clips on and untick the rest. If you are preparing a broad handoff, choose the full set and let Remove unused fields keep the clip sheets tidy.
For XLSX exports, Include front page controls the introductory workbook sheet: Welcome in single-sequence workbooks and Sequences in combined workbooks. The setting is remembered and also applies to quick XLSX exports.
Choose columns
Section titled “Choose columns”Column layouts apply to clip-listing reports in XLSX, CSV, and PDF.
Standard keeps SequenceSuite’s normal report columns. A custom layout lets you save a smaller ordered set, such as:
- Track
- Clip Name
- Reel
- Sequence In
- Sequence Out
- Duration
- Source File
Use layouts when someone asks for “just these columns” and you expect to produce that version again. Track and Clip Name are always kept, so the report remains readable.
A layout also controls the order of the columns. In the layout editor, drag columns into the order the delivery asks for; XLSX and CSV exports follow it exactly. PDF keeps its designed page layout - your column choices still decide what appears, but not the order - and the window says so when PDF is selected.
Remove unused fields can still run after a layout is chosen. That means a layout can describe the columns you are willing to include, while the export removes columns that are empty for this particular sequence.
Choose time display
Section titled “Choose time display”Time display controls how time columns are written in clip listings.

Sequence times and source times are separate choices. For example, you can keep Sequence In and Sequence Out as timecode while writing Source In and Source Out as frame counts.
Sequence In and Sequence Out also support frame offsets. Use these when your delivery reference starts at a different frame than the edit timeline.
A common handoff
Section titled “A common handoff”For a production manager who wants one trimmed report per episode:
- Choose Custom Export….
- Set Rows to Full report.
- Pick the episodes in the sequence list.
- Choose One file per sequence.
- Choose XLSX or PDF.
- Pick a saved column layout, or edit a new one.
- Turn on Remove unused fields.
- Export.
You get a clean set of per-sequence files without changing the quick Export button’s default behaviour.
Compared with Production Clip Reporter
Section titled “Compared with Production Clip Reporter”Production Clip Reporter can save column layouts and change how time values are displayed. SequenceSuite covers those handoff needs in the Custom Export window, alongside the row scope, sequence picker, report sections, format, and package choices for the export you are making now.
SequenceSuite also keeps the quick Export button separate. Your usual export stays fast and predictable, while Custom Export carries the special instructions for the job in front of you.
