Gather — Overview
Gather reads your sequence XML and copies the referenced media files to a destination folder. It’s designed for offline prep, delivery packages, and archive workflows where you need the exact media your edit references — nothing more.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- Parses the source XML to build a list of every clip the sequence references.
- Resolves each clip’s path on disk (or flags it as missing).
- Copies (or hard-links) the media to your chosen destination, preserving reel folder structure.
RED Siblings
Section titled “RED Siblings”Gather includes a dedicated sub-tool for RED camera workflows. RED clips can span multiple .R3D files, but Resolve typically only pulls one file per clip during a conform. RED Siblings finds the remaining R3D files that belong to each clip and copies them into your conform folder so every clip is complete. See RED Siblings.
