Settings

Open Settings via SequenceSuite → Settings (or ⌘,). There are four tabs: General, Sheet, Gather, and Dupe.

General

Setting	Description
Mode	The mode SequenceSuite starts in. Persists across launches.
Density	Compact, Comfortable, or Spacious. Sets table row height across all modes. Cycle with ⌘D.
Show sidebar	Toggle the left sidebar on or off.
Show inspector	Toggle the right inspector on or off.
Show disabled clips in Sheet	When off (default), clips marked disabled in your sequence are hidden from the Sheet table, summaries, and exports. Includes clips on disabled (muted) tracks as well as individually disabled clips.
Recover Resolve OTIO source paths from metadata	On by default. When an OTIO clip is recorded as MissingReference but the source path is present in the clip’s Resolve metadata, SequenceSuite reads the recovered path. Turn off for a strict reading of the file’s literal MissingReference markers.
Appearance	System, Light, or Dark. Applied immediately to all windows.
Default EDL frame rate	Frame rate pre-selected when you import a new EDL. You can still override per file in the import sheet.
Clear Parse Cache	Removes cached EDL/XML/FCPXML/OTIO parses. Use this if you want SequenceSuite to rebuild restored open files from source rather than using the saved parsed result.

Updates (Direct download only)

Setting	Description
Automatically check for updates	On by default. SequenceSuite checks in the background once a day and shortly after launch. You only see a window when an update is ready to install.
Check for Updates Now	Runs a check immediately. The time of the last check is shown alongside.

App Store copies update through the Mac App Store, so this section only appears in the direct download.

Parse cache

SequenceSuite caches parsed sequence data so previously opened files restore quickly on launch, and can show a sequence whose source volume is currently offline without reconnecting it. Clear Parse Cache (above) forces fresh reads for everything; Re-parse Source (right-click a sidebar row) refreshes one file. See Restoring and re-parsing.

Thumbnails

Setting	Description
Poster size	40, 80, 120, 160, 320, 640, or 1280 px, from a menu. Sets the height of the poster frames embedded in Sheet and Dupe exports. The larger sizes are there when a report needs posters big enough to actually read.
Sidecar TC offset	Advanced. Number of frames added to every poster seek when reading from a playout. Leave blank unless your playout’s timecode is offset from the sequence.

Thumbnail embedding is off by default; turn it on with the toolbar’s photo button (the choice sticks between sessions). Posters come from a flat playout (viewing copy) of each sequence - see Thumbnails in Sheet exports for how playouts are found, linked, and handled when offline.

Sheet

Media

Setting	Description
Include camera audio	Off by default. When off, sync audio from camera files is excluded so it doesn’t repeat the video. WAV / MP3 / etc. (audio-only files) are always included.
Include EDL black/filler	Off by default. When off, Avid EDL filler/black events such as BL rows and synthetic Edit n placeholders are hidden from Sheet tables and exports. Turn on only when you need to audit the raw EDL structure. Avid titles are also BL events, but in Dupe they’re recognised as graphics and appear under the Generated filter independently of this setting.

Exports

Setting	Description
Remove empty fields from Sheet exports	Drops columns that are empty in the current export. Off by default for predictable templates. The on-screen table is unchanged.
Add date & time to export filenames	Off by default. Adds the date and time (e.g. 2026-06-01 1432) to the end of single-file export names, so each one is uniquely dated. Folder and per-sequence exports are never dated.

Per-sequence packaging choices live in Custom Export…, where you choose them at export time.

Gather

Destination

The current Gather destination folder is shown here, with a button to choose a new one. The choice is remembered across launches. You can also set it, clear it, or jump to it in Finder from Gather’s Inspector, and the next run will simply ask you again if there’s no destination set.

Copy

Setting	Default	Description
Overwrite existing	Off	Always overwrite the destination, even if a copy already exists.
Overwrite smaller	On	Overwrite when the destination is smaller than the source.
Overwrite older	Off	Overwrite when the destination’s modification date is older than the source.
Skip identical	On	Skip when source and destination have the same size and modification date (within ±2 s). Avoids re-copying files that are already there.
Checksum verify	Off	After each file larger than 1 MB is copied, read both source and destination back from the physical media and compare them. A mismatch deletes the bad copy and flags a failure, and any file that can’t be checked is reported as an issue rather than passed. Adds time but gives you certainty for long-term archives. You can also switch this on for a single run from the confirmation screen.
Detect on-disk duplicates	On	Spots when the same file appears in two places under different names, so it’s only copied once. Compares file sizes first, then verifies matches by reading the contents. Can be turned off for very large libraries where the second-pass check is too slow.
Buffer	4 MB	How much data moves at a time during a copy. 1–256 MB. Larger values can be faster on quick drives; smaller values use less RAM.
Exclude extensions	-	Comma-separated list of file extensions to skip (e.g. aif, mp3). Match is case-insensitive.

Source access

The bottom panel manages per-drive and per-folder read permissions. Each row shows the drive name, its full path, and a status pill - Online, Offline, or Unavailable. Permissions persist across launches.

If a drive moves, remounts under a different name, or the permission expires, the entry shows Unavailable with a Re-grant… button. Clicking it lets you point SequenceSuite to the new location without losing the entry. See Source Access for full detail.

Dupe

Setting	Range / default	Description
Proximity range	1–50 clips, default 5	How many clips apart two same-card uses can be and still be flagged as a Proximity match. 1 means strictly adjacent.
Fuzzy name matching	Off	Enables similar-name matching to catch small renames and typos. Off by default - it produces too many false positives on same-card clips with systematically different names.
Similarity threshold	0.70–1.00, default 0.85	Minimum similarity score for a fuzzy name match. Only active when Fuzzy name matching is on.
Timecode tolerance	0–10 s, default 0.1 s	How much source TC can drift between two clips and still count as a fuzzy match. Only used when Fuzzy name matching is on.
Duration tolerance	0–10 s, default 2.0 s	How much source-duration difference is allowed in a fuzzy match. Only used when Fuzzy name matching is on.

Media

Setting	Description
Include camera audio	Off by default. When off, sync audio from camera files is excluded so it doesn’t duplicate the video comparison. WAV / MP3 / etc. (audio-only files) are still included when Audio is ticked in the Dupe toolbar.

Ignored sources

Sources you’ve hidden from Dupe results are listed here. Right-click any row in the Dupe table and choose Ignore this source in Dupe to hide bars, slates, guide mattes, or other intentional repeats. Ignored sources are removed before detection runs, so they don’t appear in Cross-Episode rows, Matrix counts, Unique counts, or exports. Use this list to remove individual entries or clear them all.

Export

Setting	Default	Description
Include unique clips in XLSX	Off	When on, the XLSX export adds a sheet listing clips with no matches.
Add date & time to export filenames	On	Adds the date and time (e.g. 2026-06-01 1432) to Dupe export names. On by default - a duplicate check is a snapshot of a specific set of episodes at a point in time, so dating keeps each comparison separate rather than overwriting the last one.

Match-type filters (Exact / Partial / Proximity) are toggled in the main Dupe toolbar, not in Settings.
