Dupes — Overview
Dupes cross-references clips across multiple sequences or episodes to surface re-used shots. It’s designed for long-form work — documentaries, drama series, reality — where the same camera roll can appear across many episodes and you need to know exactly where.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- Post-delivery QC: Confirm no clip from a previous episode was accidentally included in a new cut.
- Music clearance: Find every use of a clip that carries a specific music track.
- Archive: Build a complete cross-reference of every clip across a series.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Dupes matches clips by source file name and source timecode range. Two clips are considered duplicates when their source reel and in/out timecodes overlap, regardless of where they sit in the timeline.
